‘Painting the Sierra in Gouache’: A Demo by Michelle Lin

Demo: Wednesday September 23rd, 7:30am-11:30am

Using gouache, Michelle Lin will demonstrate how to capture colorful fall scenery in her unique style.  Michelle will explain her thought process behind simplifying complex scenes with bold shapes and expressive colors.  Learn how to be efficient and intentional by painting small and avoid getting lost in details.   Michelle will share tips on gouache techniques for those new to or already familiar with this versatile medium, and also how to travel and paint with a small setup.  

Participants are encouraged to ask questions and may sketch or paint along in their chosen medium.

Meet at Mono Arts Council at 7:30am, then drive to location 

What to bring

Sketchbook & soft pencils, water, snacks, sunscreen, hat, chair and clothing to layer.  Personal paint supplies & plein air gear optional.

Note: Michelle will be painting and teaching, but not providing one on one instruction for this demo. You are welcome to set up your easel and paint along, or just observe.
